There are many different types of people of note in the Strength and BodyBuilding world. There are bodybuilders that focus just on creating muscular and asthetic bodies. Also there are powerlifters that try to maximize weight lifted on three lifts. Finally there are Olympic lifters that try to maximize lifts overhead, and people that compete in strongman and strongwoman type events among others.

The Mr Olympia contest began in 1965 as a contest to provide further compeition to Mr Universe Winners. It Allowed them to compete with each other for a bigger bolder title.

 The Ms Olympia contest began in 1980 as a bodybuilding contest for women. It today is the premiere bodybuilding contest for women. It has had years with lightweight, heavyweight and overall champions just like the Mr Olympia contest has. Female bodybuilding has evolved to include fitness pageants and is measued in ways other than just bulk muscular development and such is how the Ms Olympia contest has been judged in the past too.
